SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

The function and necessity of sleep are not well understood. By using C. elegans, I aim to establish the correlation of sleep and metabolic activity, identify the key regulatory factors and ultimately provide evidence that sleep is a neuro-metabolic phenomenon.
