PROJECTS / RESEARCH

The aim of my PhD project is to analyze the interaction of Per and Dec genes in the regulation and synchronization of the circadian clock in mammals.
Therefore, I will analyze circadian clock function in Dec- and Dec/Per-double deficient transgenic mice using a combination of behavioural and molecular techniques. My project will help to characterize the interactivity of the different transcriptional translational feedback loops (TTLs) that make up the molecular clockwork of the mammalian circadian timing system in vivo.

SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

My scientific interest is chronobiology in mammals, with a focus on TTL function and how the Zeitgeber light resets the circadian clock in the SCN, covering the whole range from molecules to behavior.
